About this product
The moulded plastic strip, ready to fit.
One piece of polypropylene, no assembly, no metal. The cheaper of our two strips, and the one to choose where the fitting should be quick and tidy.
This is the moulded plastic strip, and it is the flagship of the four plastic pages on this site.
One piece of injection moulded polypropylene with alternating long and short points, so there is no comfortable gap to settle in.
It arrives finished. The stainless strip has pins that clip into the base; this one does not, which makes a long run much quicker to fit.
Fits fences, wall cappings, ledges, sheds, gates and railings with screws, tape, adhesive or cable ties.
Sold per 50 cm with no minimum order, and it is the cheaper of our two strips.

Four pages on this site sell this one moulded plastic strip, listed under the animal each visitor came looking for. The strip is identical on all four. We would rather tell you that than have you order three things that are one thing.

The reason to choose plastic is rarely the price on its own. It is that a 30 metre fence in plastic is an afternoon and the same fence in stainless is a longer afternoon, because every stainless strip has pins to seat.

The reason to choose stainless instead is exposure. On a coastal roof, on a commercial specification, or anywhere a surveyor will look at it, the metal version is the one to fit.

Fitting is the same discipline either way. Clean the surface, treat the run as continuous, cut the last piece so it finishes flush, and do not leave a corner uncovered because it was awkward.

It is a deterrent, not a barrier. It makes a surface unpleasant to stand or walk on. Nothing about it is designed to injure a bird, a cat, a rat or a hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this and the stainless strip?
This one is a single moulded piece with no assembly and no metal. The stainless strip has 304 steel pins on a clear base and stands up better to salt and sun over the long run.
Which should I buy?
Plastic for a long fence run, a tidy look and a lower price. Stainless for coastal exposure, roofs, and anything a specification will be written against.
Is the plastic one less effective?
On the surfaces it suits, no. Both work by removing standing room. The difference is durability and appearance, not mechanism.
What colour is it?
Brown moulded plastic, which disappears against timber and most masonry and is more visible against white render.
Does it come apart in the sun?
The polypropylene is rated for sun and rain. It stays flexible rather than going brittle.
Can I fit it to a shed roof?
Yes, screws into the timber. A shed roof edge is one of the easier fittings on the whole site.
Will it stop rats?
Along a route, it interrupts them. It does not close an entry hole, which is a mesh job.
Can I fit it indoors?
Yes, in warehouses and covered loading areas, on beams and pipe runs. It needs no power and it does not corrode.
Is it sharp enough to hurt someone?
The points are blunt moulded plastic. Do not fit it where somebody grips, such as a handrail, and it will not be an issue.
How do I cut it?
It divides between segments. A hacksaw or a strong pair of snips finishes an awkward length.
Will it hold on painted concrete?
Yes, if the paint is sound. If it is flaking, screws are the safer answer, because the adhesive can only be as good as what it sticks to.
How many for a 20 metre fence?
Forty strips. Round up rather than down.
What are they made of?
One piece of injection moulded polypropylene. No metal, nothing to corrode, nothing to assemble.
How are they sold?
Per 50 cm segment, with no minimum order.
How many do I need?
Measure the whole run, divide by 50 cm and round up. A boundary is only as good as its shortest untreated section.
How do I fix them down?
Screws or nails into timber, adhesive or double sided tape on brick and render, cable ties on railings. There are fixing holes moulded in.
Do they need assembly?
No. This is the difference between this strip and the stainless one: it comes out of the packet finished.
Can I cut them?
Yes, they divide to length for a short run or an awkward corner.
Do they hurt the animal?
No. The points are blunt moulded plastic and they are there to make a surface uncomfortable to stand on, not to injure anything.
Will they rust?
There is no metal in them, so no. That is the case for choosing plastic over stainless where the look matters more than the exposure.
Will the sun make them brittle?
The polypropylene is rated for sun and rain. It stays flexible enough to sit on a fence top that moves in the wind.
Why choose these over the stainless strip?
Cost, appearance and the fact that they need no assembly. Choose stainless for coastal exposure, for a commercial specification, or where you want the least visible fitting.
Are they safe around children and pets?
Fit them where nobody grips: the top of a fence, a wall capping, a ledge above head height. They are blunt, but a fence top is not a handrail.
How long do they last?
They are made for permanent outdoor use. We do not publish a service life, because it depends on the site rather than on the product.
Do they need looking after?
Rinse the dust off when you wash the fence. Otherwise nothing.
Do you fit them?
No, we supply only.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is Philippines wide. It is free on orders over ₱1,900 and ₱650 below that, and orders leave after a 24 to 48 hour handling time, arriving in about 5 to 7 days.
Can I return it if I ordered the wrong amount?
You have 15 days from delivery to send an unused item back in its original packaging for an exchange or a refund, and 30 days to tell us if something arrived faulty or was not what you ordered. Cancelling a paid order before it ships carries a 12.5 per cent processing fee. None of that affects your rights under the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
Do you deliver outside Metro Manila?
Yes. We deliver across Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao, and the free threshold and the flat rate are the same wherever you are.
Can I buy in bulk for a building or a site?
Yes. Ask for a quote on the wholesale page and tell us the total run in metres, the surface, and whether access needs scaffolding or a lift.
